Men’s hair color and gray blending in DC

Men’s hair color at Short Story is for men, masc guests, and anyone who wants their short hair to read masc. Same menu, same prices as every guest: gray blending with a Gloss & Go is $95 and takes 45 minutes, a five-minute walk from Dupont Circle Metro.

Most men sit down for gray: salt and pepper on top, gray at the temples first, or a beard that went gray before the rest. I blend the gray so it reads with the sides and the beard, some of it still shows, and the grow-out has no hard line.

Others want something new: a warmer brown, copper, platinum or a vivid. Every price is set by the service and the time, never by gender, and the plan, the time and the price are agreed out loud before anything starts.

Questions

Do men pay the same as everyone else?

Yes. Every price is set by the service and the time, never by gender, and everything is included.

Is gray blending the same as gray coverage?

No. Gray blending softens the gray so some still shows and it grows out with no hard line. If you want fuller color, we talk it through at your free consult.

How often do I come back?

A Gloss & Go fades gradually. Most guests come back every 6 to 8 weeks, and Color Club books your next three visits for you.

Do you cut fades?

No. Your barber keeps the sides and I do the color. Xavien fades in the same suite at XP Studio DC.
